Opportunity
APG is looking for a Project Manager who will be responsible for leading environmental and industrial projects from initiation to completion. Reporting to the GM, the role involves coordinating teams, subcontractors, and suppliers while ensuring performance, compliance, and effective communication. The project manager will oversee risk, EHS, quality, and financial aspects to meet project objectives.
Position summary
- Coordinate the project team designated by Business Unit management, as well as subcontractors and suppliers, in accordance with awarded contracts.
- Deliver projects in line with objectives set by the Director at initiation, ensuring compliance with contractual, legal, regulatory, and internal requirements.
- Monitor project performance using key indicators and take timely action throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure clear and effective communication across the project team, keeping all stakeholders informed of relevant information.
- Report regularly to the Director on progress, including milestones, issues, improvements, and contract adjustments.
- Contribute to the preparation and delivery of all required project deliverables.
- Implement and enforce compliance with risk management, EHS, and quality management processes throughout the project.
- Manage monthly financial tracking and closing activities, present results to the Director, and recommend corrective actions as needed.
- Ensure proper documentation and adherence to established document control procedures.
- Support APG’s bidding and proposal development processes.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 8 years of project management experience in environmental, mining, or construction sectors.
- University degree or technical diploma in environmental engineering, civil engineering, or a related field.
- Willingness and ability to travel to worksites across Canada and the United States.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and team leadership skills.
- Solid knowledge of health and safety, environmental, and quality standards.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
