Opportunity
The Health Consultant will lead consulting engagements with employers regarding their medical, dental, life, disability benefit plans and programs. This role will also negotiate with benefits carriers and vendors to secure health and welfare plan coverage for these employers. As a consultant, you will lead business development opportunities and set business development strategy and tactics for the relevant market.
Main responsibilities
- Leading client engagements, including managing overall service delivery, strategy, financial evaluations, plan design, renewals, business placement, benchmarking, and other studies.
- Developing benefits design and renewal strategies and driving the development of tools and solutions to address client issues.
- Effectively communicate Mercer's position on latest industry trends to clients.
- Being accountable for revenue/profitability for client accounts and projects.
- Generating sales by expanding revenues from existing clients and by leading prospecting efforts with new clients.
- Setting strategic direction that creates demand for new products/services in the marketplace.
Qualifications
- BA/BS degree.
- At least 8 years’ experience in identifying, designing, recommending, and implementing efficient, innovative business solutions to clients' health care benefits challenges.
- Renowned expertise and industry reputation in the health & benefits field.
- Superior analytical and mathematical skills, strategic planning, communication, and listening skills.
- Proven management skills in leading projects.
- Strong, innovative sales and marketing skills plus the ability to market organizational strengths successfully.
